Volunteers

At Humber Park School, we have many volunteers who contribute their time to make our school a better place.

Student Protection Policy

Prior to volunteering with the Halifax Regional School Board, all volunteers will provide:

  • A completed Department of Community Services Form B2 – Consent to Disclosure of Information which can be found at:
    http://gov.ns.ca/coms/families/abuse/ChildAbuseRegister.html.
This search must be updated every three years.
  • A certified and true copy of a criminal records check completed in the
three months preceding volunteering. This check must be updated every
three years. Criminal Records Check forms are available in the main office or at the Cole Harbour RCMP detachment or at the Halifax Regional Police office in Burnside.

This policy applies to all aspects of volunteering including class field trips, classroom volunteers, school-wide events, etc. If you plan on assisting as a volunteer for an upcoming trip or event we would recommend having this done soon, as the process can take some time.

Volunteers help run many of our school wide programs, as well as helping out in individual classes. The students and staff of Humber Park Elementary appreciate all of their hard work. We sincerely thank each and every volunteer for their time, effort and dedication!

School Programs:

  • Hot Lunch Program
  • Library
  • Book Fairs

If you would like to volunteer or would like more information regarding helping out within our school, please send us an email. We would love to work with you.
